Sep 2014 – date    Communications Volunteer, London+Acumen, UK

  • Contribute to the voice of London+Acumen, London’s volunteer-led chapter of the international Acumen Fund

  • Responsible for promoting the social enterprise PITCH competition, among other events, to startups, investors and influencers on Twitter

  • Participating in social media discussions and scheduling posts to enhance London+Acumen’s image and grow its community

 

Mar 2014-date   Social Media Marketing Manager, Funraisers Dragon Boat Festival, Kent, UK

  • Created the first social media strategy for the Funraisers Bewl Water Dragon Boat Festival, an event which has raised £2.4m for charity
  • Achieved 248k impressions and 422 interactions on Facebook and Twitter over the 2014 festival week, with £90,000+ raised for 50 charities through sponsorship during the weekend
  • Produced flyers to encourage teams to engage with the event’s social media platforms over the weekend, despite a lack of Internet service in the area, and achieved press coverage in the regional newspaper

TechAbility Mentoring Programme

  • One of 17 applicants to be selected for the mentoring programme, developing my entrepreneurship and marketing knowledge with a Google marketing employee for 12 weeks

  • Mentored a dyslexic student with school work and motivation to gain the ’v50’ award for fifty hours of volunteering

  • Assist in overseeing my family’s flock of sheep, providing expert help at lambing time

  • Started ‘Cards by Lucy Fuggle’ at the age of 13, selling cards through fairs, shops, and businesses, including one leading financial firm in London during Christmas 2009

  • Translated León Felipe’s “Ganarás la luz” to gain the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)
